After hearing horror stories of people stating to steer clear, I purchased a Bitkey to self custody my Bitcoin and remove it from the exchange. I’ve been doing a lot of research on BTC for the past few months and i’m finally ready to buy. I’ve decided to go with Independent Reserve as I am from Australia. However, their withdrawal fee is 0.0002 BTC which is currently about 26$. I can’t find any better options than this which to me is a problem as I don’t want to keep more than $1000 in the exchange but if I withdraw it to my cold wallet they are taking 2.6% every time. I feel like this is a lot. So my questions are: 1. Is it okay to leave $5000+ on an exchange (in particular independent reserve) in order to lower the withdrawal fee? 2. Is 0.0002 BTC an okay withdrawal fee (I haven’t seen anything better in Australia and even if there is better ones like maybe Strike then I get fucked with conversions from AUD to USD)

If I could borrow ~10 minutes of your time. If you are new to Bitcoin especially, I think you need to have a long term view on things and set a goal of stacking a block reward. This is different for all of us and how much money we have to convert into BTC. But my advice for young investors eager to get rich quick, wishing you had 3 Bitcoin today. 0.19 BTC in 2040 will be like 3 Bitcoin today. I know you want that new lambo and to get that new girl, but as you grow up your wants will change and you will want to see your kids have a bright orange future. By the time they are grown up 0.006 will be like 3 Bitcoin today. You aren’t to late to Bitcoin you are just in time. So start stacking toward a block reward today.
